Robotic Competition at Techniche IIT Guwahati ROBO-ZEST 2018

ROBO-ZEST is an annual Technical Robotic Competition organized by RoboSpecies Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This year it was held at Techniche 18, IIT Guwahati. The date of the competition was 1st September. Schools from all over India were invited to participate in the competition and we saw a very good response from the schools towards this event.

Schools as far as Andhra Pradesh, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi Participated in this event. The event was of a Line Follower Robot and the arena is given below.

Students were given maximum 3 minutes to traverse the line from Start till end. Also they were given bonus points if they display their names on a LCD screen kept over the bot and display Time traversed by the Bot on a Seven Segment Display. The bonus points were kept such that students have to program the bot themselves and ready made kits of line follower will be eliminated automatically. 

Students showed commitment and hardwork in making lots of robots. Pictures of Robots made by students along with the organizing team attached below.

Attached below is the video of students practicing over practice arena kept at the venue for calibration of sensors. The energy which was there in the room full of hopeful students and the zeal to win was intriguing.

Even though the Bot was really good and and fast but it didn't win the competition. As it didn't fulfilled other criteria of LCD and Seven Segment. So in the end it was All Girls Team which took the Trophy and Won the Competition. The Girls Team is from Sikkim School Name is Paljor Namgyal Girls School, Sikkim. It was such a proud moment that girls taking an initiative in Robotics and Winning the cometition at ROBO-ZEST 18, Techniche 18, IIT Guwahati. Photo Below:

Finally The Event was very successful. Prizes were distributed by Dean of Students Affair of IIT Guwahati and Convenor of IIT Guwahati. 

It was a proud moment for all participants of ROBO-ZEST 2018.
